My Check engine light in a 2010 malibu just came on 6 days after have the
break-light sensor fixed due to recall.  It is driving totally fin, and I've had
sensor issues in the past with nothing else wrong. How urgent is this? It got 2
diagnostic checks in the past month and showed nothing with the engine, but
now the light is on and is making me nervous.

If the car is running fine otherwise, it is not urgent. When you have time have the car scanned for the codes to find out why.
