Silverado won’t shift from park after replacing booster/master

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 Silverado 1500 classic lt. Changed booster
and master cylinder due to leaking master. Wouldn’t
shift from park afterwards. Tried a new brake switch
from oreilly since they don’t cost much and it will
shift but now brake lights don’t work. All other lights
work fine. Can put old switch back in and brake
lights work but the not shifting problem is still there.
Not really sure where to go from there, rather not
take it to shop unless have to. Tried another brake
light switch from oreilly to in case first one
happened to be faulty. It stops good so don’t
believe it would be the cylinder or booster.
Appreciate any help here. Thanks
