2006 jeep grand cherokee laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can someone please point me in the right
direction...

My 2006 3.7 v6 jeep grand cherokee laredo Is
driving me bananas in pajamas, after months of it
going in and out of the shop for something
strange( spark plug #2 kept going bad) I thought it
it was finally fixed.. But the other day while I was
headed to my grocery store(1.2 miles away) I
started it, drove maybe 60 yards to check my mail
before heading to store. While not driving maybe
coasting it to mail box my transmission/ check
engine light popped on. Since then my
transmission over temp thing pops on, The car
says it's over heating..after driving it for 3-5mins. I
don't think my fan kicks on anymore to help with
engine overheating...even though I paid to get the
relay switch fixed just 6months ago.
Specific things I noticed
- it mainly starts to get hot while I push the gas.
-if I continue to drive it between-20mph-48mph it
will overheat
-on the freeway it's 100%perfect
-sitting at a red light will sometimes cool engine
off...
-If I drive anywhere and I keep a.c. to full blast (with
that little fan pic.)...it wouldn't get hot...or as hot.

Any ideas?.. Cause I have to get my
tags/emissions testing soon, and my check engine
or transmission light is on....
