99 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 Triton V8 5.0 was stolen & taken off road. I recovered her 3 years ago come August from some rude Officers that allowed myself ( a young lady) to drive her home in bad shape.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I recovered my grandparents deer
lease truck that had been generously gifted
to me & babied by myself.  When I cranked
her to drive her home she was making a
loud booming sound like a second hand on
clock & she appeared to be stuck in low &
maybe even tow & no lights indicated a
thing on & when I turned the dial on the
4x4 there was no clicking or sign to access
her either way.  She wasn't accelerating & I
drove her home & parked here.  She's here
3 years later & my old guy friends will ask
me what's wrong with her but no ones
taken any time with her & myself to asses
the situation with her.  So I'm desperate for
any answer on what the booming sound
was & what I can do as to get the help to
fix her. I'm disabled due brain tumors & on
a very limited income but missing my truck
& needing transportation.  The guy that
stole her was just a kid that put her on
better tires to take her off roading & he
knew nothing of how you would even
operate a 4x4.  He was probably trying to
drive 55 mpr in 4#4.  Any help or
suggestion as to what this issue intels
please allow & forgive my ignorance as
wel.
