Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 06 honda odyssey. First time owning
a honda.first concern seems to force
itself to it takes a little too
long to change gears(its automatic).second
concern is engine heats up so much u can
feel the heat on the outside or on the hood
of the car..gauge doesn't show car is heating
up tho...could it be that it just needs
maintenance? I checked engine and tranny
fluid levels but im not good at reading
dipsticks haha. Help anyone?

Not sure on the heating up, but it shouldn't be too hot. Maybe that is what is contributing the shifts, as the transmission is overheating. Have a local mechanic look it over for you to see what is causing your issues, they are not normal and you don't want to wait till something fails leaving you stranded.
