Dash Cam Parking Mode

Asked by Avalon709 Apr 20, 2020 at 02:09 PM

Question type: General

My dash cam drained my battery while in "Parking
Mode". It has an internal battery but the manual says it's
for emergency use. Do I have to have the cam hooked to
constant power to use "Parking Mode" ?

On my dash cam it does need constant power for park mode to work, but mine has a built in battery protection so if the battery reaches a preset voltage the camera totally shuts down saving the car battery. If yours is drawing the battery down in a day or so then either you have a defective unit or your battery is just about ready to go bad.
