Why does my truck die when I put it in gear
When I put my truck in gear it dies what could that
From the question, I'm guessing that the engine starts and runs well. It's just when you shift the automatic transmission into gear that the engine dies. I'd suspect that this is due to a transmission problem. Might be thee torque converter solenoid closing too soon, or it could be internal pressures inside the transmission that push against each other due to leaks caused by a defective valve body, bad seals, or just filthy trans fluid or a clogged filter. Have the transmission checked. If the transmission is OK, look to a defect in the idle air control valve or a vacuum leak.
