Certified Pre Owned is a term new car dealers have used for a long time to identify the best of the used cars they sell. What it really means is, in their opinion, these cars are less of a risk than the others and the dealer applies a longer warranty period. Some used car dealers (stay away from them) have come to apply this term as well.
