Thoughts on a 2007-2012 honda civic ex for a first car need a bit of advise my grandpa (he does all the mechanic work for my family) he doesent like the idea from a experence with a family members civic that had lots of issues. I looked at a few articals that its a reliable car and it wouldnt be hard to work on but im only 17 so I dont know that much. any help would be appreciated or other cars to consider.

If his experience was on a 1972 Civic, I can understand the apprehension, but over the past quarter century, the civic has been one of the most reliable cars. If you like its size, you could also consider a Toyota; they have made a couple of nice small cars, like the Celica; one of my favorite is the Camry Solara; it's sporty and is available in a convertible.
