Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 96 Dodge Ram 1500 that will crank but
wont idle. the switch for the lights burnt up (the
person that had it before me rigged it up some type
of way & they caught fire). the switch for the lights
wouldn’t turn off (cause of being burnt up) & it killed
my battery. i charged the battery for a few minutes,
let it run then turned it off. it turned on a couple
times after that & idled but died shortly after. now
everytime i crank it, itll die immediately after i crank
it unless i press the gas. i dont know if i didnt let it
charge long enough or if theres something else
wrong with it. please help! i drive it every day & is
my only ride. it was running fine until the battery
died.
