Stopped for 5 minutes, Car wont start after

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Chevy Malibu was running perfectly fine before i stopped at a gas
station tried to start it up and it wouldn't start. I see most of everyone problems
was the anti theft light coming on while this problem occured but mine doesnt
come on at all. It just cranks but will not turn over. Had roadside assistance
come to diagnosis the problem and after listening to it twice he then told me the
fuel pump gave out. He even had me put pressure on the accelerator to see if the
engine would rev up but  the car didnt jerk or anything. I guess this was how he
was certain it was the fuel pump. I need help. I dont want to repair something
that isn't the issue.
