Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't turn over until 2nd try

Why won't my jeep turn over until I turn key once
then turn back to off and turn a second time. Then it
turns over and starts

Might be a weak fuel pump or leak in the system. By turning the key two times pressurizes the system. Look for a fuel leak, (hoses, o-rings at the fuel rail and injectors),test/check the fuel pressure, change the fuel filter and if the pressure is low, might want to replace the fuel pump. Start with the simple things first. Too many people just replace the fuel pump when it's not needed.
