I don't mean to be disrespectful but if you haven't replaced the bulbs, consider that. Both bulbs have burnt out on me before.. REMEMBER there are more than one element in a Brake Light so it can appear to work in Running light mode, but not work on Brake mode. Replace both bulbs to be sure. IT was the answer for my daughters car.

I worked on a 2005 e150 with no brake lights and found a light green wire going into the hazard switch that wasn't getting a 12 volt signal from the brake switch. Jumped it to the brake switch and brake lights functioned properly afterwards
