Transmission issues

Asked by GuruPH6KR Jan 21, 2020 at 05:39 PM about the GMC C/K 1500 Series

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my 1994 GMC K1500 will not move in any gear.
It will start and run just fine but when I put it in
reverse, drive, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd it will not move and
the rpms drop to anywhere from 500 to 100. It idles
fine in park and neutral. I’m a bit of a gear head but
I’m having trouble finding out what the issue may
be. I don’t know if it’s something simple like coolant
lines being clogged or maybe a bad solenoid but I
don’t want to waste money on an overhaul kit if I
don’t have too. I could really use some thoughts
and help. It will be much appreciated.
