Accidentally used wrong key to try to start, now will
not stay running

Probably activated the security system. Try this: from the inside manually lock all the doors except the drivers door, then with the correct key in hand close and lock the drivers door with the key, wait until the dome light goes out a then wait at least a minute or longer, then unlock,the drivers door with the key and see if it will start and run. If it don't then you will have to have it towed to the VW dealer and have the system reflashed to match the vehicles vin and the correct set of keys.
