Low voltage from ECU to coil pack.
I have a 2000 Jetta 2.0 Automatic that will crank but won't start due to lack of
spark. Multimeter shows that with the ignition on (but not cranking) that there
is only 6.5 volts going to the coil pack. A resistance test shows normal
minimal resistance along the wire from the pack to the ECU. The battery is
fully charged at 12.5 volts. A scan with VCDS-light shows no error codes in
the engine and transmission modules.
Could this be a fault with the ECU? Or is there another wire I should check
first? An additional note is that this was a rather sudden condition, ran fine
one day and then wouldn't start the next.
