Goes in reverse but not in drive

I have a ford f 350 4x4 diesel automatic
After replacing transfer case , brakes and
rotor on the right front tire. The truck ran a
short distance and then stalled out. It will
start and go into reverse but will not go into
drive at all .what could be the problem

Most likely, low transmission fluid or a bad transmission control solenoid. A long shot, but it could be a faulty speed sensor. Check to see if fluid is full and clean, then go to a car parts store and have codes read whether you have any warning lights on or not; they'll probably do this free. If this doesn't show the problem, have a transmission pro see it.
