Sport trac is stuck in 4 ×4low can't go back to 2 wheel drive

You didn't say anything about any of the 4X4 indication lights being on, so make sure it didn't blow the fuse, if that checks good then find some level ground, block the wheels and place the trans in neutral, turn the key to on, do not start the engine, have someone push the 2WD button while you lightly tap on the transfer case shift motor, sometimes this will make the motor run just enough to get the transfer case to shift back into 2WD. If that works then you need a new shift motor assembly. If that doesn't work then you can remove the shift motor and manually put it in 2WD, then just cover the opening with some gorilla tape, unplug the shift motor until you can have someone to go through the system and let you know what went bad. Anytime they put a computer module on a system is just makes it more complicated to check out.
