My #8 cylinder is skipping don't have a lot of
compression 267000 miles think I have a burnt
valve will the left and right heads interchange got a
good head but it's off the left bank

With 3 different engines available in the 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, all three appear to use the same cylinder head on both sides. I'm with tennisshoes, pull both heads and do the valves or get rebuilt heads.

If you rebuild the heads the rings will probably go next. I would either fix just the one cylinder or do a complete engine rebuild. Putting new heads on an engine with 267k miles is a waste of money.
