Dodge ram 3500

Asked by May 23, 2018 at 02:06 PM about the 1999 Dodge Ram 3500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband has a 99 dodge ram 3500. He can start the truck and it will idle.
But when the engine gets to operating temperature, and he gives it
throttle...it dies. However, it always starts back up, no problem. He has
changed the throttle position sensor, the lift pump (FASS), and he put a fuel
pressure gauge. Now he's thinking it may be the computer shutting down the
fuel system. He's a pretty good diesel mechanic, he works on all our heavy
equipment for our trucking company. But this has really got him (and
everyone else we ask) stumped! Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks
in advance!
