Dodge Ram 1500 AC

Asked by Aug 06, 2019 at 06:57 AM about the 2001 Dodge Ram 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn on my AC it starts out cold, then I hear what sounds like a door
open/close under the dash then hot air only. Any repair tips on this?

That's the blend/mode door that shifts between hot and cold. As you hear it move, the actuator is probably OF, but what drive it isn't working correctly. I don't know if it's electrical or vacuum driven in your truck. Find out and fix it; the last one I did like that turned out to be just a vacuum leak.
