Left key in the ignition and it won't st Start.. just got a new alternator....drove from Philly to West Virginia. what's wrong?es

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Bought the van last week.. everything  was
fine..sudenly the air stop working...the battery stop
....so the mechanic  change the alternator .
Cleaned the battery  and replaced the bell...
We left..... was pulling a toyota in the back but with
the wrong tow bar ....we have a mechanic removed
the bar and we started driving  separately  .. we
had the windows opened.... and the key in the
ignition ....i think that drained the battery.....what
else could it be ???....we have a minimax.... but it is
raining now.... what and adventure!!!!.... please help
!!!
We are going to try the minimax first ...
Anything else I should be looking for????
