My tranny quit...I think.

Asked by Feb 04, 2018 at 09:52 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My tranny seemingly quit on me as I was backing out of my drive; No noise, no
smell...no gears. When I put it in gear, I can feel it grab, but it doesnt move.
Shop in town says the tranny is shot, friends of mine say the module just needs
replacing. What say you?

How is the fluid level and fluid condition? Is the fluid brown and burnt smelling or is it bright reddish pink like it should be?
