Passenger windows, electric seats not working

Asked by Aug 26, 2019 at 11:13 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 Tahoe with passenger windows and electric seats not working. The 60
amp fuse in the engine fuse box was blown. Changed this fuse and it blew as I
was plugging it in. Given the items not working I removed all the connectors
from the left I/P junction box, and plugged in a new 60amp fuse. Fuse didn't
blow. Plugged back in the seven connectors to the junction box, one at a time
and tested various windows, seats etc with each new connector. Everything
worked by the time I had plugged in all seven connectors except for the
window lock. Left the car running for 20 mins and the fuse was blown again.
The Service Battery Charging System message appeared but when I restarted
the car the message was gone. I have tried replacing the driver's window
switch (this made things worse - right passenger window didn't open. Also
worth noting this all happened shortly after the alternator was replaced. I have
visually inspected all the cables I can see easily and they seem good. I haven't
performed any circuit test (not something I have done before so guidance
would be welcome if this is the next step). Thanks
