Why do my dashlights come on when I turn key on, but then shut right back off? even while I'm driving, I can't see how fast Im going, how much gas I have, what gear I'm in...nothing.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While I am driving, if I turn the key all the way on, like I'm starting the van, the
lights all come on and I can see what's what. But, usually after returning the key
to just the on position (while I'm driving) the light shut off, spedometer goes down
to zero, gas gauge down to zero. The only other thinkg affected is the rear
windshield wipers don't work at all. wasnt able to use a/c this summer, but heater
works, it was on defrost when this issue started so that's where it's stuck at. It did
this the first time for 2 weeks, then one day I just jiggled key in ignition & it started
working fine. Only lasted for a week though, can't seem to figure out what the
heck is going on.
