Boot lock

Just brought a 2nd hand 2005 tribute,
Just noticed the boot doesn't lock when
pressing the lock button on the keys, is
this normal or a fault.   Does lock when use
key

probably the boot lock actuator has failed. Open the hatch/boot and remove the panel. Activate the key fob and see if the mechanism moves at all. If it does, check the white plastic bushings, they have a small dia. metal pin through them, they tend to work themselves out effecting the locking. Get a screwdriver to push them back in.
