I'm trying to give good feedback on posts to improve the site, but I don't see
a "mark unhelpful" button, nor the option to unmark something I accidentally
marked helpful. This leads to ratings inflation and the inability to differentiate
between good and bad answers; since the only action that raters can
(apparently) take is to mark something good, all comments / answers will
continue to have 100% helpful ratings... This can't be correct, can it?
anyone who answers a question in this area, there is a "mark helpful" button. Anyone can click as such. Also the person who posts the original question can mark it best answer if they want to. There is no reversal of feedback and works as you have concluded.
Plus the individuals that who answers questions on this site all try to help. It's more a guessing came than anything as we don't always get all the details. So having an Unhelpful button will discourage individuals to continue to use the site. There are provisions to report a post if it is hateful or has spam. If you have further questions, click on 'contact us' at the bottom of the page /screen and ask the question to the admins who run this site. This is a public area and we are just users like you.
Exactly, in other words, if you can't say something nice. Don't say anything at all! Thank you. (I suspect this will be marked "unhelpful".) -Jim
