transmission

Asked by rangerproblems8891 Nov 24, 2016 at 01:21 AM about the 1994 Ford Ranger

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1994 Ford Ranger with a manual
transmission tried locking up going down
the road in 5th gear. The truck will only drive
with the shifter in neutral position and feels
like its driving in first gear. It can shift into
another gear but has no power and tries to
stall out if I let out on the clutch. What is the
problem?

Have you checked the fluid level and condition of both the transmission and rear differential? My guess is that there is an issue with the transmission.
