Auto Transmission change

Asked by jfmfit2003 Nov 29, 2008 at 01:43 AM about the 1995 Lexus LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello, I am asking for a friend who can't use a computer. He has a new auto transmission just fitted. But the car now 'lurches' forwards each time it is put into drive? Any ideas?

Could be several things. The idle speed could need an adjustment; the torque converver could be malfunctioning, very possible it should have been changed with the new tranny. Best bet is to return it to the shop that did the work. I can't imagine a tranny installation without a warranty included.
