how do you set the ignition timing on a 95 lexus gs 300

how do you reinstall the distributor to achieve correct ignition timing

well, by now you know which wire goes to the number one cylinder....turn the engine around until TDC is shown on the crank or gear...verify this is the power stroke (could be the intake stroke) by looking at the cam position...turn the rotor till it is firing on the one (you'll know from the wires) put it back in, clamp loosely (so you can still twist it to use the timing light to get it exact)....plug the vacuum source to the advance mechanism with a golf tee, check the book probably is seven degrees BTC~ put the diagnostic jumper back, the vacuum advance back....done..---always, judge_roy~
