Transmission won't shift to 4th gear

Asked by Feb 05, 2019 at 03:25 PM about the 2011 Chevrolet Caprice

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2007 middle East spec v8 4 speed automatic caprice
and won't shift to 4th gear.
I checked the transmission oil and even change it but gave
me the same error as the old one.
The two errors are P0700 and P0976.

Most likely cause is a defective shift solenoid; that's the codes you included. But it could be due to just a dying battery. Check battery and make sure it's good; you might even put it on a charger to make sure.
