Engine swap and compatibility

Asked by Dec 09, 2017 at 11:03 PM about the 1993 Jeep Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 1993 Jeep Cherokee base model that
currently has a I6 4.0L HO with around 230k miles.
Today I heard her start missing during idle and sadly
found some water in the oil. Could be a head
gasket or a crack somewhere deep, but my
question is what are the differences between the
4.0 HO out of a 94 wrangler and the 4.0 I currently
have. Also how difficult would it be to swap into my
Cherokee. Thanks in advance.
