How can I check hybrid systems

To check your hybrid system you have to take your Prius to the dealer. If the light goes on with the warning, you can unplug the white cable connector on the front fuse box. Leave it for at least 2 minutes and connect it again. Caution, before reconnecting the cable have your alarm on your other hand, cause as soon as you connect, it will activate the alarm.

Thank you, GuruBL. I did what you suggested and it worked? I took the cover off the fuse box, disconnected the white cable and waited 2 minutes and IT WORKED! TM

It worked with me, turned off car, disconnected white cable for two mins, connected it again and warning gone. This resets car setting. I’m missing the radio memory card setup. I have 2011 model German, anyone does have the software and can share it with me? I will copy it to memory card or CD

It worked for me for 10 min. Problem occurred again. I pulled over and removed the white cable again for 2 min. I was able to drive home...30 min. So, question is what is the problem. I don't trust the car now. What do I need to have done at the mechanic's?

Your best bet is to take it to your Toyota Dealer. that's what I did, My 2012 Prious C had 82,000 miles and they replaced the whole battery bench by warranty. The batteries have a 8 years 100,000 miles warranty. Right now I have to replace a rear view mirror and prices at dealer are less expensive than an auto part store. Is wise to always check quotes before fixing.

Same thing happened to me. If you reset your computer so the warning does not appear, the dealer won't be able to discover the problem. You have to leave the message on and take to the dealer, then their computer will find the problem. Usually is the battery pack.

Thanks Guru, My 2013 Toyota 'Check Hybrid System' light turned 'off' after following your instructions to remove the white cable, wait for 2 mins., and put back the white cable. You saved the anxiety that this warning caused. I wish you were close by the San Francisco Bay Area for a 'Thank You Much' treat.

It worked for us! Thank you so much!! We had our 2 year old in the car when the sign popped up and the car just shut off soon after. SAVED OUR LIVES FOR!! THANK YOU
