Water on the floorboard

Asked by Jan 25, 2019 at 01:46 PM about the 2012 Hyundai Elantra

Question type: General

My 2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring has water on the floor board located in the
passenger back seat (behind the driver) when it rains. I could not find
anywhere inside the car where it seemed to be leaking. I had it checked out
by my mechanic and they tested using simulated rain (water from the hose).
They discovered the water runs down the windshield in the corner area
located bottom left corner (facing out of the car from the driver seat) and
follows a "channel" to the back seat floorboard. It seems the seal between
the windshield & the rubber seal is not very tight. Has anyone else had this
happen? My son has a 5 year old Hyundai Sonata which is doing the same
thing. He has not had it checked out yet.

You know what it is; why don't you fix it? Your no longer under warranty and if this is systemic, it will take Hyundai years to admit the problem and take responsibility for it. Repair now and join a class action suit later.
