P0741 Hyundai Sonata goes on and off

Asked by Aug 15, 2019 at 05:50 PM about the 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi,
I have an issue with my Hyundai Sonata from
2011. It has 200k+ miles.

The engine light on the dashboard goes on
and off.

It only happen when I’m on the highway
driving around 65MPH.

While I’m accelerating at a constant pressure
on the gas pedal, the engine Rpm will
suddenly go down and quickly back up
resulting of a sort of speed boost at once.

At that time the engine light will turn on.

The light will stay on for a couple of days and
then disappear.
Once the light is on, I don’t really feel any
difference on the driving point.

At some point I though that it was when the
transmission is switching gear so I drove it on
manual mode. And this issue happen too
while I was already on 5th speed...

I went to Autozone and they told me it’s the
code P0741.

I checked online what could make that code
happening and it could be if the rpm of the
engine is different from the rpm of the
transmission by 200rpm.

Did any of you experienced this issue and
found a way to fix it or have any
recommandations of testing to do in order to
identify what to replace?
Thank you in advance.
