Odor in console

Asked by Jul 03, 2017 at 06:56 AM about the 2010 Ford Fusion

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a terrible odor in my car. I think I've found the
location, but I can't see what the cause is! I think
it's down around the wires in the picture or in that
general area. The area is circled in blue in the pic. I
don't want to mess with wires/electric stuff. Any
ideas on how to clean or locate the source? It
smells like melon juice or something spilled.
If it was just carpet, I'd just pour rubbing alcohol on
it to kill any bacteria, but there are wires there.
Suggestions? I'm going crazy!

Is that location in photo the center console area? Maybe spray some febreze on the other side of the carpet.
