I have a Toyota highlander limited 2009 and Toyota mechanic says I need to replace my oil pan and that the oil plug or something like that, LOL, is stripped. I recently had another independent mechanic replace my alternater for less than half of what Toyota wanted to charge me. He said he saw no evidence of oil pan needing to be replaced...i DON'T SEE ANY OIL LEAKING EITHER. Please let me know what you think I should do? I have limited funds.
have the independent mechanic look at it and offer his advise. Hard for us to know if the plug is stripped. Sometimes you can replace the plug with a larger size and retap the pan with new threads.
