Starting problem with2.0 liter 2000 ford escort se.

Pvc hose pops off it has a new fuel filter the pump sounds good. It will not
start and it has fuel in the gas tank.

If the PCV hose is popping off due to internal pressure the head gasket has blown into the crankcase. See if you can hear or feel a "puff- puff-puff" coming from the PCV valve hole. If so, that's definitely what has happened. HTH. -Jim
