2004 dodge grand caravan not running correctly when it rains
After it rains ill start the van and it "spits and sputters". then I drive off to work and it keeps doing that for a while then it stops and its ok again. but if its still raining it takes longer before it runs normal. A SIDE NOTE: when its running rough (spittin and sputterin) like this and I step on peddle to excelerate I hear like a tapping sound.
Rainy weather wreaks havoc on engines because moisture gets into every crack; a broken distributor cap, cracked plug wires, etc. When it's dark, open the hood and have someone turn the key while you look at the engine. The light show will show you where the electrical leaks are. Spray WD-40 around the area for temporary isolation until you bet it fixed..... The tapping sound might be the alternator responding to moisture, as well, but have this and the battery checked.
