1979 ford f100 with 302

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently bought this truck and noticed a lot of oil
residue, so I pulled the valve covers to replace the
gaskets. And once off, I see the babe train has a lot
of “gunk” on them. I check for metal shavings and
didn’t find any, so I replaced the gaskets and fitted
the covers back but there’s smoke coming out the
passenger side valve cover “tube” and the truck
seems to be running a little hot. So can I fix this by
doing frequent oils changes or what should I do?
