Daughter drove Jeep through water and splash up
under hood into engine area, Jeep shut off and
now won’t start had to have it towed to home what
could be wrong?

Water can easily short out the ignition system but will likely be okay after it dries out from the engine heat. It's been nine hours. But if it was driven into deep water, that may have gotten sucked into the engine and caused damage. A quick test: If the engine will crank over with the starter, it probably did not do serious damage.
