I'm looking to buy winter tires for my 2012 BMW X1 and founf a set from a 2008 535i for sale. The rims are 7.5J x 17 ET20. Will they fit my car that has a 7.5J x 17 ET34? The bolt pattern is the same but I was wondering if the offset will make a big difference.

Thats a pretty significant difference. I would make sure that the wheels aren't rubbing on any of the suspension parts before going for these wheels. Measure how much space (in mm) you have between the wheels and the closest suspension part to it (eg the springs). If there isn't much space already, don't get these wheels.
