I was going to say rear tailgate door switch but then I see it turns off after a period of time after the engine is shut down so that tells me that there is a problem in the exit protocols of the BCM. Has the rig experienced any voltage problems like a jump start or battery replacement? If so the vehicle might need a "flash" of the computer systems to reset it to factory. As this can only be done at a dealer, so it's not cheap, I would just remove the bulb or do a rewire with it's own switch on or under the dash if you need the light.
