The Malfunction Indicator light is triggered when a problem is detected in either your RAM's engine, transmission, ABS brakes etc, and the code related to that fault is stored in your engine's computer. To find out the next steps in getting the issue corrected, you'll have to get a scan tool or take it to a local shop that will scan it, and provide you with the codes that come up. You can provide those codes here, and someone can help you narrow down what troubleshooting steps need to happen (if any) to get the problem figured out and repaired. Sometimes the MIL will come on, but a code scan will show nothing major has happened - something as simple as a worn gas cap can cause the code, among other things. Best to have it scanned to be sure!
