08 lift gate won't open - dealer says it's the motor

Dealer wants $1300 to replace lift gAte
motor. Is this something I could do or have
a mecHanic do?

You have to be the judge of what you can and can't do. Shop around to make sure you are getting a fair price and price just the part to see how much the labor savings would be.

I personally would not have a dealer do so much as an oil change if it was not covered under waranty as they grossly overcharge on just about everything.
