Annoying humming

Asked by Charlie Jan 14, 2020 at 07:15 PM about the 1997 Buick Riviera Supercharged Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

There is a humming sound coming from the
front of my 97 Buick Riviera. It sounds like
an airplane taking off. It happens only when
driving,  I can't figure out what it could be.
  Any ideas? Please help.

Greetings, my question is, do you hear this annoying sound when the vehicle is idling or is when you are moving? First, I would suggest having someone to accelerate the engine and listen for some unusual sounds. My guess is the fan/blades are damaged causing the blades to flex more, which would cause a humming sound. Good Luck SEMPER FI
