Transmission Solenoid

Asked by Campbell Apr 13, 2023 at 04:19 PM about the 2004 Toyota Camry LE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After one of my solenoids went bad I went
ahead and bought the pack of solenoids to
replace all of them. Unfortunately after replacing
them the car won’t shift to (L), won’t reverse or
anything. What would be the cause of my
problem.

What was the Original problem with this vehicle which led to the diagnosis.....one sol. went bad.....? Did you record All the trouble codes that set in the Computers? What were these codes? Who replaced these solinoids? Did you remove the Trans Valve Body in order to replace these solinoids?

The Original problem was P0776, the trans body was removed but I believe a spring was installed incorrectly inside the transmission. Could that be the problem?

Indeed.....a spring put back into the VB incorrectly could be the issue.AutoTrans service and Repair is one of the ,more challenging sides of the business. One should be referencing the appropriate service manual. You might consider the purchase of a ...refurbished replacement valve body available on line or at a local parts store. Finally....you might consider a toe to the nearest Trans repair shop for a further analysis. Good luck.
