Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner (original owner).  I now have 317,200 miles
on it, still runs like a champ.   I'm way over due on a timing belt change.  does
anyone recommend if I should change it?  I'm a little hesitant because won't I
need a new motor or transmission soon or???....  i'm not a mechanic or know a
whole lot about engines.

If the belt breaks your engine is toast. This could happen at any time.
