My automatic transmission slips sometimes. What would cause this?

Check for any transmission codes, could be shift solenoids, pressure valve even wiring problems. But don’t be surprised if the transmission is on its way out. If you have around 80K on it that’s when they start having problems. I will never own another Jeep.

Intermittent transmission maladies are frequently caused by low fluid or fluid that's dirty. On a twenty-four year old Jeep, if you have a transmission filter, it could be clogged. Just have a trans shop do a proper service.
