2000 silverado not running

Asked by GuruSVZQJ May 21, 2019 at 11:45 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I did a engine swap in a 2000 silverado I put a
2005 Tahoe 5.3 and everything is connected
correctly and plugged in right. I have tried turning it
over and every time I do it’ll crank and try to start
but just keeps sputtering. I checked the fuel pump
and it primes and I can hear it at the front of the
truck I checked the fuel rail and it had pressure
and fuel in it but I am getting a low fuel message
yet it has 10 gallons in it I’m at a loss of words and
don’t know what to do

Get into the tank and lift the float manually. 8 bolts to loosen the bed. Only take out the ones on the tank side and leave the other ones half in. Put bottle jack in between frame and bed to suspend. If the float keeps dropping you have a bad sensor or need a new pump. You may also need to do a compression test and play with the ecu
